My ipod got left in the rain face down but the water seaped through and now its in the screen HELP!?

so.I forgot my iPod on my window seat and it rained, my bench got drenched but my ipod has water damage to the screen. it was face down if that means any thing, the water i guess somehow got to the other side. attm i have it in a thing of rice is there any other way i could help fix it.
