Can i transfer a debt into my sons name, if he admits being liable for the debt?

i took a mobile phone conract out for him, he ran a bill up to �600 the monthly payments were set up to go out of his accunt. now he can't pay and the debt collection company are chasing me for the money, this is now obviously effecting my credit rating, can i transfer this somehow into his name to stop my credit rating being penalised...he is agreeable to this....
